Spear and Scale

This Saurus spearman is part of the very first unit where the Shaded Basecoat technique was used to paint mass amounts of figures in a compressed time frame... designed to be indistinguishable from my "old" one by one methods.

I mixed various brush on primers with regular paint to create the initial layers.

Here's the first blog post showing how this method was done.  It is also the centerpiece of the Painting Pyramid video series.  There are 53 different titles, which cover all aspects of painting, basing and even terrain!  They are all available directly through me on USB drives.  Feel free to contact me if you are interested!

  1. Hi, is it possible to get the guides via digital download? you could transfer it to drop box and send me the link when you get the money.

I wanted the one about painting the dark elf and drow skin.

    1. Hi there! Each file is about 2.5 GB. I had originally thought that I could do dropbox for these, until I discovered that most people don't have that much capacity in their accounts. Made me very sad, because it would have been ideal! If you have the space, that would be great.

  2. This is fantastic. Love the yellow underbelly and the shading on the shield is probably the best I've ever seen this figure receive.
